In April 2019, Islington Mill Art Academy hosted a workshop at the Whitworth Gallery, reflecting on Ruskin's life and work
In preparation, I read a short biography and became a fan, despite the 'issues'
This was a reflection on certain themes, from his life, that still resonate today
In discussions with the others, I found myself defending his ideas
So, on the night, I got landed with the role of Ghost of Ruskin (I'm off stage left) taking a crit on his own work, a painting I had seen a few minutes earlier
It was a close run thing
